Rat Lab Guides Hub Overview

Welcome to the Rat Lab guides hub. Rat Lab by Evil Science is a session-based Roblox lab where Lab Rats break free and return for revenge, Scientists craft mutations and run experiments, and Security hunts escaped rats before they arm up. Every match resets most tool unlocks unless you own Forever gamepasses—so knowing timers, routes, and role jobs matters more than raw grind.

Use this hub to jump into focused walkthroughs. New players should start with Getting Started, then study How to Escape and the Map before learning the Revenge return. Device friction lives on Controls. Spend decisions belong on Gamepasses plus Tools & Unlocks. Badge hunters open Badges. If you prefer the white coats or the baton, open the Scientist Guide or Security Guide. Mutation hunters need Mutations.

Session unlocks vs Forever gamepasses

Rat Lab’s biggest pain point is session reset. Batons, nets, medkits, firearms, and late OP mutations unlock on timers during a match, then drop when the session ends—unless you bought Forever unlocks. Approximate mid-session milestones: Baton/Net ~5m, Medkit/Taser/Body Armour ~10m, Antidote/Pistol ~15m, Rifles ~22m, Mouse Trap ~25m, Shotguns/Turret ~30m, OP Mutations ~60m. Full tables live on Tools & Unlocks. Mid-September 2026 highlighted Body Armour Forever (R$59), Mouse Trap Forever (R$149), Turret Forever (R$179), Stronger Leash (R$99), and All Mutation Codes (R$2499)—see Gamepasses and Updates.

Codes vs Mutation Index colour codes

Players searching “Rat Lab codes” often mix two systems. Promo codes redeem gifts; we still list none, so our Codes page stays honest until official codes appear—see How to Redeem for the UI path. Separately, the Mutation Index uses colour/mutation markers to track specimens. The All Mutation Codes gamepass (R$2499) is not a promo-code pack. Details: Mutations.

Combat and capture notes worth memorizing

  • Vest rats gain about +50 HP—Security must commit more shots or tools.
  • A sniper can one-shot non-vest rats; vest rats still punish careless aim.
  • Escape is a three-stage path to the exit, then an optional return for revenge weapons.
  • Badges to chase: Test Subject, Through the Wall, Out of the Lab, For Science, New Specimen, Caught One — full how-tos on Badges.
  • Mobile Security should expect harder captures; read Controls before blaming nets.

Suggested reading order

  1. Getting Started — first-hour foundation.
  2. Controls — device setup before ranked ego.
  3. Map + How to Escape — space and stages.
  4. Tools & Unlocks + Gamepasses — clock and Robux.
  5. Revenge once exits feel consistent.
  6. Role guide matching your queue: Scientist or Security.
  7. Mutations and Badges for Index and milestone hunts.
  8. Check Updates after patches and Scripts only if you understand Roblox risks.

Hub FAQ focus

This hub answers “where do I start?” The child pages answer “how do I win this role?” Keep internal links open while you play: escape routes next to security patrol tips, mutation Index next to scientist experiments, map rooms next to revenge re-entries. When something patches, re-check unlock timers and badge names here before trusting outdated clips.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Rat Lab players.

Which Rat Lab guide should I read first?

Start with Getting Started, then Controls and Map if you are new. How to Escape and Revenge come next for Lab Rats; role guides follow for staff.

Do Rat Lab tools stay unlocked between sessions?

No. Most tools unlock on timers and reset when the session ends unless you own Forever gamepasses. See Tools & Unlocks and Gamepasses.

Are promo codes the same as mutation codes?

No. Promo codes (if any) redeem gifts via the codes UI. Mutation colour codes live in the Mutation Index. All Mutation Codes is a paid pass, not a promo list.

Where can I compare roles and tools?

Use the Roles and Tools tier lists, plus the Players pages for Lab Rats, Scientists, and Security.
